This area offers breathtaking views and interesting subcultures. The North
East mountainous areas of Ha Giang offer unique opportunities for rugged car
rides and trekking routes. It is the least traveled area of the north and often
attracts the more hardy travelers craving a glimpse of some of the more remote
ethnic minority people.
Enjoy the empty beaches, motorcycle cruising around the forests and villages.
This is a real off-the-beaten-track cycle tour to a part of Asia few foreigners ever venture. Starting in Hanoi, we take the train to the hill-station of Sapa and discover the mountain trails around Fansipan, Indochina’s highest peak. Riding over a 2000 metre high mountain into the remote Lai Chao Valley we visit a land known by the local Hmong people as "beyond the clouds." Our ride ends in Dien Bien Phu, the site of the Viet Minh's historic and decisive victory over the French. After visiting the battlefields and learning how Ho Chi Minh defeated the French, we fly back to Hanoi.
Along the way we pause to visit the main sites in Halong Bay , HoaBinh, Hoi An, Hue, and finally Hochiminh city. What makes this tour special is our route hardly touches the frenetic Highway One, as we ride along quiet or little used roads to discover the real Vietnam.
Taking time out of the saddle we have excursions by boat in Halong, Hue and on Mekong river as well as interesting rides to Cu Chi Tunnels. After cycling through the incredible limestone karst scenery of HoaBinh and Halong bay. We spend a night aboard the Reunification Express Train to Hue then passing the HaiVan pass to Hoian Old commercial town from 17century. On reaching Hochiminh city, we have time to ride to Mekong delta and overnight in Vietnamese homes and try to be the vietnamese one time.
